The Royal Parks Half Marathon – always a popular course, this virtual version promises to bring you as much as possible of the physical race experience with a customised app, whilst keeping you safe in your local community.
When: Sunday, 11th April 2021
How long: 21.1km / 13.1 miles
Where: anywhere in the world
You will experience the atmosphere of race day through custom audio cues and augmented reality that will bring the iconic race course to life as you run in your local area.
Charity runners who take part in the April race and meet or exceed a fundraising target of £175 for their chosen charity will be guaranteed a place in October 2021 or 2022 at the standard ballot fee of £59.
You will receive a premium race pack prior to race day with your race bib, sustainable water bottle and medal. After you complete the race and submit your time through the app, your finisher shirt will be sent to you.
To recreate the event day experience, race morning will incorporate an online warm-up and messages of support from notable faces before the race officially gets underway at 9am on Sunday 11 April. You are encouraged to find open space and connect with nature, all whilst following the latest government guidelines on social distancing.
There will be an interactive leader board during the race and, on completing the Half Marathon, you will have your time registered on the Royal Parks Half app. The standard winner categories will be awarded as usual, in addition to a new non-binary field.
The Nystagmus Network will cover the cost of your place in the run. All we ask is that you set up your Justgiving page here and commit to raise the minimum sponsorship of £175 for the charity. Once you confirm that you would like to go ahead, please do let us know how you plan to meet the fundraising target in the lead up to race day.
We hope you decide to take part and we will be here to support you every step of the way!
