Clinical Academic Orthoptist

Lecturer in Orthoptics

I am a clinical academic Orthoptist with an interest in eye movements, nystagmus and eye misalignment (strabismus). I work clinically as an Orthoptist and Low Vision Trainer in Sheffield and as a Lecturer in Orthoptics at the University of Sheffield. I have previously worked in a number of large teaching hospitals in the UK, seeing both adults and children with a range of conditions affecting their vision, eye movements and binocular vision. I am interested in research that helps us understand nystagmus and the impact it can have on vision and on the individual. I have worked with others on a range of nystagmus projects including acquired nystagmus and oscillopsia, the development of the Nystagmus Information Pack, and the development of the Oscillopsia simulation app.
