Are you looking for a new opportunity to use your energy, time, skills and talent? The Nystagmus Network is recruiting volunteers to guide and direct the charity’s work.
If you have expertise and experience in teaching, education support or SEND the Nystagmus Network would love to hear from you.
The minimum time commitments are an evening or daytime phone call every 6 weeks, attendance at beneficiary events and support for Nystagmus Awareness Day.
We are particularly interested in applications from people with lived experience of nystagmus. So, if you have congenital or acquired nystagmus yourself or are the parent/carer or other family member of someone living with nystagmus, we’d love you to join us to help shape the future direction and breadth of our support services and help drive some of our major project work.
Representing members of the nystagmus community, you will support the charity’s sustainability and ensure our services are there for those who need them most, helping to make a real difference to quality of life. Please apply to be a volunteer adviser, with a CV and covering letter, outlining the contribution you could make to our work, by email to applications@nystagmusnet.org
Our volunteer appointment process includes a written application, then an online informal chat with members of the charity team, followed by an in person meeting with at least one team member. There is then a short induction period. All volunteer appointments are subject to our volunteer role terms and conditions, which includes a DBS check.
