Take part in neuroscience research

People with impaired vision are invited to take part in Neuroscience Research at Goldsmith’s, University of London.

Please see details from the team below:

We are inviting you to participate in a research study that explores how people who are blind or severely visually impaired sense their body’s internal signals, like their heartbeat, and how this relates to feelings and emotions.

Our goal is to better understand how the brain adapts when vision is impaired or absent, particularly how internal body awareness (known as “interoception”) might affect emotional health and overall well-being. During a single visit of about two to three hours at Goldsmiths, University of London, you will complete simple computer tasks while we safely record your brain and heart activity using comfortable, painless sensors (EEG and ECG). You will also fill out brief questionnaires about your feelings and body sensations.

Your participation will help researchers develop better support and improve mental health outcomes for visually impaired people.

We will reimburse your travel expenses and offer £30 as a thank-you for your time.

Thank you for considering participating in our research!
