parkrun for Nystagmus Awareness Day

This year for Nystagmus Awareness Day and ‘wobbly week’ the Nystagmus Network is encouraging everyone to take part in parkrun, to get out into your local park and walk or run for nystagmus awareness.

You can take part in parkrun just about anywhere in the country, every week of the year. But what better way to raise awareness of nystagmus than to do your parkrun during Wobbly Week?

On Saturday 22 June you can take part in a full parkrun. That’s 5k

On Sunday 23 June children 4-14 years and their families can take part in junior parkrun. That’s 2k

Eye to Eye – you smashed it!

Huge congratulations and thanks to everyone who turned out on a very blustery Sunday morning to walk 4 or 14 miles around the streets of London to raise money for pioneering nystagmus research at Moorfields and UCL.

The final total is still being counted, but we can report that together you have so far raised a massive £7,600 and counting! WELL DONE EVERYONE!

Regular giving

The Nystagmus network relies entirely on membership subscriptions, fundraising, gifts in wills and donations to be able to continue its important work supporting the nystagmus community, raising awareness of the condition for a better quality of life for everyone affected and funding research.

Through CAF Donate our supporters can set up regular giving

The Nystagmus Network banks with the Charities Aid Foundation, which means that you can donate directly to the charity without incurring any fees and we don’t pay any commission. So every pound you donate comes directly to the charity.

To make a donation, or set up regular giving through CAF Donate, from as little as £5 per month, please click here.

Fundraising? It’s a Colson family affair

The Colson family are serious about fundraising for nystagmus research. Sisters Laura and Ellie are taking part in the Peak District Ultra Challenge this summer, their first ever ultra marathon, whilst their brother, Ryan, CEO of the family firm, Colson Skips, is getting his entire workforce right behind them.

If you’d like to sponsor Laura and Ellie, you’ll find their Justgiving page here.

You can read Ryan’s story online, here.
