Fancy a stroll through London?

At 11am on Sunday 10 March 2019 we’re planning the biggest nystagmus community get together of the year. Team Nystagmus Network will be taking part in the Eye to Eye Walk between the iconic London Eye on London’s South Bank to the equally famous and symbolic eye sign outside Moorfields Eye Hospital.

Please join us.

We’re doing this to raise much needed funding for ground breaking research into nystagmus at Moorfields and University College, London.

You can choose to take the 4 mile or the 14 mile walk. It’s up to you.

To walk with Team Nystagmus you need to set off at 11am.

Bring the family, bring the dog and help the nystagmus cause by raising lots of lovely sponsorship.

Please set up a Justgiving page for your sponsors and link it to the Nystagmus Network.

Registration is now open. It’s free for accompanied children under 16 and is just £20 for the 14 mile route and £15 for the four mile route. We suggest a minimum sponsorship of £100 for every participating adult.

Moorfields will supply:

  • Route maps
  • T-shirts for every participant
  • Fundraising support
  • Refreshments, medal, goodie bag and celebration at the end of the walk at their brand new Ect Venue, (Belvedere Road, London, SE1 7PB) next to the London Eye!

Free run places

Would you like to take up a FREE run place for the Nystagmus Network?

We have places in the London Vitality 10k on Monday 27 May (Bank Holiday Monday) and are about to purchase places in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 13 October.
Due to the relatively high cost of the places for a small charity like ours, we ask that our runners fulfil the following criteria:
  • you have nystagmus yourself or a close connection to someone who does
  • you have a proven track record as a runner
  • you can commit to raise a minimum of £250 in sponsorship

If you would like to be considered for one of our 2019 run places, or would like to suggest an alternative event to take part in, please do get in touch.

Want to run the New York marathon 2019 for us?

You could combine your place in one of the most prestigious runs in the world with the holiday of a lifetime, next November.
Sadly, the Nystagmus Network is unable to provide any financial support for either your run place or your travel expenses, but, if you can secure sponsorship from, say, an employer to cover those costs, we’ll be right behind you every step of the way to support your fundraising.
You can find out more about the New York Marathon here.  The company organises everything for you and offers a variety of packages. They all include at least an element of travel, whether plane tickets or hotel accommodation in New York.
Please take a look and, if you decide to go ahead, please let us know and we’ll be ready to back you every step of the way.

The Small Charities Coalition advert

97% of charities in the UK are small. The Nystagmus Network is so proud to be a small charity and part of The Small Charities Coalition. We all got together to make a Christmas advert. Together we wanted to show you how small charities keep communities going. So this Christmas, please enjoy our advert and support a #SmallButVital charity! Thank you!

The world’s biggest pub quiz: Pubaid

Did you know that pubs raise over £100m every year for charities? PubAid is encouraging pubs, bars and clubs to take part again in March 2019. They can raise money for whichever charity they choose, so let’s get them fundraising for the Nystagmus Network.

To help us get a share of the funds, please ask your local publican to register for the quiz.
